BLC Featured Players

You ran in to them in solo match making, you played them, and you were pwned by them. Now get to know them – your fellow players from our BLC community. Learn some useful advice and some fun facts about the ppl you bump into in game.

Tell us about yourself!

– I come from Sweden and I started playing BLC back in 2011. I like to play BLC most of the time

What’s your favorite bloodline?

– My favorite Bloodline is Stalker

Describe your trickiest Stalker combo.

– M2>Space>EX1>Meteor>M1>Frostshard>M1

What advice would you give to players just starting out?

– Just be patient and learn from your mistakes. You are the one taking yourself to the top tier and no one else (if that’s your goal)

Any final comments before we kill you finish up?

– I want to give a shout out to Gazhag!

iamlothars

Where are you from? When did you start playing BLC?

– I’m from Sweden (or India, according to most others) from a very pretty city called Karlstad. I started playing BLC during closed beta, like Spring 2010, (thanks to) a friend having a beta invite…! I used to play at least 3-4 hours a day, now one hour+ depending on if it’s Sunday or not.

Tell us about yourself!

– My name is Carl Carlton Carlsson, or so I wish – one of the three is correct. I’ll turn 17 on September 9th. I’ll bait you and outsmart you. Used to play a bunch of Pokemon when I was younger (Pokemon Ruby with like 400 hrs play time), used to cable-link with my cousin and Poke-rape him. I quickly realised that pokemon is a game that requires too little skill, so I moved onto mashing buttons in Super Smash Bros and played through Ocarina of time like 21 times when I was eight (also played through World of Warcraft and Dota).

Fast forward 9 years and poof, I’m radiating an aura of swag.

What’s your favorite Bloodline?

– Metal Warden, I guess.

Describe your trickiest bloodline combo.

– Couldn’t find words to describe it, so I drew it instead.

Quickly draw a picture of your coolest moment in BLC.

What advice would you give to players just starting out?

– Don’t give up until you have at least 50 wins – preferably not at that point either. The game becomes more fun when you learn the basics. I’d say it takes about 250-300 games before you actually understand the depth of the game. Don’t play what others want you to play, just make your own stay as fun as possible :]

Any final comments before we have you deported finish up?

– I wanna give a shout out to my dog Winston.

Lothars is a BLC vet who’s allergic to chicken and finds curry disgusting. Check out his stream at http://twitch.tv/lothars1.

Cool story bro!

Another streamer returns to BLC

imback

BLC welcomes back daowner123, former streamer looking to once again fire up his channel with some raunchy group team action. Daowner123 averages 200-300 views per session and his channel boasts over 100 followers, so we are pleased to have him back where he belongs – here streaming BLC.

Daowner123 would like to give a shout out to his homeboys John and Jared, and you can find where to watch them rock some games here in our streams section.

Send in your own content!

The Submit Content feature is now available on Baako’s Rave! Send in your DIE/BLC-related stuff, and we will get it hosted for you. Upcoming bloggers and web journalists have the option of writing their own article, so please indicate via the provided option if you would like us to publish as it is.

Why should I submit content?

Publishing content such as guides, twitch streams, and more is a great way to raise your profile in the community. Gain more renown for your clan, or become a respected voice on bloodlines/strategy through your public contributions.

Also, building an internet following creates some awesome opportunities that a lot of gaming personalities enjoy today. John Bain (TotalBiscuit)Bachir Boumaaza (Athene) and Sean Plott (Day9) began their career posting stuff from just one, single game.

Why Baako’s Rave?

Baako’s Rave is on track to becoming on of the biggest resources for BLC and DIE, with a view to turn dot.com and expand coverage into other games. You can be sure that stuff that you post will not be tucked away behind 9 web clicks to gather dust – it’ll be up front and heavily trafficked by fans and prospective players from the community. With the upcoming release of Stunlock’s new title DIE, our community site is well placed to attract lots of followers from both fanbases.

The site right now is a culmination of all the great contributions and feedback we’ve received so far – a warm thanks to the awesome players that contributed!! We’re looking forward to seeing more from the community in the future ❤

So you think you know Ranid?

There are times where I feel like I do pretty well with Ranid; a cool F>M2>E combo here, some tricky camouflage feinting there.

But then I watch videos like this that totally burst my bronze league bubble. Check out this excellent advanced guide to ranid assassin, brought to us last week by NiceBabyBLC ft. Bloods4ssin. You’ll get some great dual commentary and a bunch of expert tips on gameplay, med/trait spec and advanced combos. GL HF!

BLC Streamer Krispigt in the Limelight

Our site’s Weekly Featured streamer Krispigt recently hit 50+ subscribers on his channel. He’s put up a gameplay montage to celebrate and show his appreciation, showing off some fierce 2v1 fights.

Check out our Streams section for his air times and other popular streamers. Don’t forget to send in your BLC streams/videos for your place on Baako’s Rave too ❤

Dead Island Epidemic Beta registration now open

butcher

That’s right, beta registrations for DIE are now open. Head on over to the site or click here to be one of the first to play. Remember that the more details you can provide about yourself, the more likely you will secure a place in the first round of Beta invites. See you (hopefully) in-game!

Note to BLC veterans – go easy on them, okay? 😉

Dead Island: Epidemic Hands on Round up

diecover

Thousands of avid gamers and industry giants joined the crowds at Gamescom Cologne last week, and some were lucky enough to try out Stunlock’s upcoming Dead Island: Epidemic at the Deep Silver booth. Check out what they and other fans have to say about it.

Shaun McInnis (Gamespot)

Teams capture flags/points around the map, they then hold the base and can pick up supplies over time. The thing I like is that it feels different (to standard MOBA). The matches are about 10 minutes.

Martin Gaston (Gamespot)

Killing neutral zombies running around the map also gets you supplies, at a much slower rate than holding onto a flag. The team with the most amount of supplies wins. There are basic walkers, and they also have super zombies in there.

Andrew Yoon (Shacknews)

Perhaps the most interesting thing Deep Silver is attempting with Epidemic is forcing teams to complete, and cooperate, with one another. Not only will some objectives require cooperation, but super-boss zombies will occasionally appear, “requiring the cooperation of all 3 competing teams” to take down.

Kelz_dunks4life (STFU&Play)

Epidemic features an immense crafting system where players can forge their weapon arsenal of choice. There will be hundreds of weapons, trinkets and items that players can craft, and once crafted, these weapons can continue to be improved to fully suit a player’s personality and play style. Combining weapons and their effects and perks will offer an enormous range of possible setups and a new take on gameplay in this genre.

Mike Futter (Game Informer)

Familiar Dead Island zombie types and weapons make appearances, and a crafting system is under development right now. Each player has four weapon slots (toggled with the 1-4 buttons) and four different abilities (Q, E, R, F). Each character has a resistant and infected form, and instead of turning into a zombie, the infected survivors manipulate the virus to give themselves unique powers and mutations.

For instance, Sledge (likely a temporary name) is a big, slow tank. However, his resistant and infected forms play off that base archetype in different ways. His virus-ridden form gives him the ability to heal allies, taunt foes, and slam the ground after a massive leap. In order to streamline the demo, skills were automatically unlocked and upgraded when points became available.

How’s it sounding to you guys so far? Are there any features or other gameplay mechanics you’d like to see? Leave your thoughts and comments below.

Baako’s Rave hosting Dead Island: Epidemic AND BLC content!

DIE and BLC Community

We’re excited to announce that Baako’s Rave will be focusing on content from both the upcoming Dead Island: Epidemic and Bloodline Champions!

This means that all the latest updates, popular guides, streams, and more for both games will be here, in one convenient location for fans to browse. Sections on our site have been set aside for DIE guides, and you can access both the BLC/DIE forums directly from the home page.

Why not just make two separate community sites?

We know that many of our community are eager to check out Stunlock’s new game, but there is also a large player base for Dead Island keen to get a taste of DIE’s game play style. Thanks to BLCs name popping up in every second DIE article lately we can expect fresh blood in our community, and Baako’s Rave is looking forward to bridge the two fan bases! We’re looking forward to players moving back and forth between both of these awesome f2p titles – discussing, sharing ideas, and raising each other’s game.

So keep your eyes on this space, more updates coming up soon!
